AMSáHighlights:

Openásince 1995, Aiken Middle School, home of the Gators, serves 6th - 8th grade students on the north and northeast sides of Aiken as well as the communities of Couchton, Oakwood, Montmorenci, and Windsor.á Located at 101 Gator Lane off of Wire Road in Aiken, SC, we share access roads with North Aiken Elementary.

Purpose Statement: The purpose of Aiken Middle School is to educate students to be successful, self-sufficient seekers of new knowledge and citizens who are actively engaged in their community and the world.

Purpose: ACHIEVEMENT, MOTIVATION, SUCCESS
Direction: We at Aiken Middle School believe:
  • All students will be given the opportunity to achieve success at their highest level.
  • All students will become effective communicators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers who are college and career ready.
  • All educators will promote student engagement in the classroom in order for students to become invested learners who take ownership of their actions.
  • All stakeholders will work to establish pride in the school community by creating and cultivating a supportive school spirit.
  • The needs of all students will be met through differentiated instruction to ensure achievement, motivation, and success.

Our population includes 580 students and 35 teachers with about a 17 to 1 ratio.á According to 2012ástatistics, our populationáis made up of 256áblack students,á49 Hispanic students, 258 white students and 17 students of other ethnicities.á Last year 82% were eligible for free or reduced lunch.
